MINNEAPOLIS (March 20, 2008) — Amy R. Freestone, a partner in the Faegre & Benson LLP litigation practice, was recently named an Up & Coming Attorney by the editors of Minnesota Lawyer. The annual listing honors lawyers who have distinguished themselves in their first 10 years of practice through professional accomplishment, leadership, and service to the community and legal profession.
Amy distinguishes herself in the defense of class actions, mass torts, product liability, and consumer fraud cases, with a particular focus on the pharmaceutical, medical device and food industries. She is a member of the Faegre & Benson Electronic Discovery Working Group and advises clients on the process of retaining, collecting and producing electronic documents in defense of class actions and nationwide multi-district litigations.
Devoting significant time to pro bono and community-focused projects, Amy volunteers as counsel for Guardians ad Litem as a part of the JUSTice FOR KIDS State Wards Advocacy Project, a partnership with the Hennepin County Guardian ad Litem Program. She is also a board of trustees member for the Washburn Center for Children.
A client of the firm recently awarded Amy its first annual E-Discovery Champion award. Amy was recognized for her mastery of the companys electronic discovery procedures and her ability to work collaboratively to achieve effective results.
Minnesota Lawyer will publish a special section featuring the 2008 Up & Coming Attorneys. Winners will also be honored at a May 8 awards luncheon.
