MINNEAPOLIS (April 16, 2008) — Steven J. Ellison, special counsel in the Faegre & Benson LLP litigation practice, will be a speaker at a major national medical device industry conference June 17–18, in Chicago.
The conference—Reducing Legal Risks in the Sale and Marketing of Medical Devices— is sponsored by the American Conference Institute and will address recent legislative and enforcement priorities for medical device companies.
Ellison will be a co-presenter on the topic Judicial and Legislative Scrutiny of the Medical Device Industry: Keys to Preparing for an Ever-Changing Legal and Regulatory Landscape. The presentation will address the preemption doctrine and its impact on future litigation for the medical device industry, federal legislative action as a result of recent deferred prosecution agreements and non-prosecution agreements, and state legislative initiatives.
Ellison has extensive experience advising pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers regarding potential tort liability, crisis response, product recalls and compliance with federal regulations.
