We encourage and expect you to take ownership in your career and in our firm from day one. You'll benefit from mentoring programs and from our focus on professional development. You'll have an opportunity to build meaningful relationships with clients and work in a team environment in which you can enhance your professional skills. This guidance and support will help you reach the goal of making partner. Beginning in your fourth year, we'll address your progress toward partnership each year during the annual review process. We evaluate associates, special counsel and partners by the same ten factors, which include ability as a lawyer, standing in the profession and the community, time and attention given to the practice of law, ability to satisfy and develop clients, non-billable endeavors, teamwork, and development of new areas of expertise. Associates are eligible for partnership consideration after seven full years of practice, and we give credit for most judicial clerkships. Partners in your practice group make recommendations to the Management Committee on partnership, and the Management Committee makes a final decision, generally based on the advice of the practice group.
