In recruiting for our Summer Program, we look for students with the potential to become both great lawyers and great additions to our team. That means not only outstanding academic performance, but also qualities like collegiality, innovation, strategic thinking, communication skills, and maturity. If you're invited to join us, that means we think you have something extra — the combination of a sharp legal mind with the character of a true professional.

Over the course of the summer, we'll get to know each other. You'll see what makes us different. We'll see your skills in action: managing your workload, building relationships, and working successfully with colleagues as part of a team.

You'll get plenty of feedback. We'll talk with you face to face about how you're doing. You'll always have someone who will give you helpful advice, an honest assessment, and a candid answer for your tough questions.

You'll also get written evaluations from every lawyer you work with. You'll also meet with a member of our Summer Program Committee at least twice during the summer. You can discuss your projects, get advice, and talk about how to get the most from your summer experience.

In the end, we'll decide if your legal and professional skills will be a good fit for Faegre & Benson. If so, we'll invite you to join us as a new associate after you graduate. We're confident that you'll be impressed enough with our people and our culture to say yes.

Over the years, we've found our first impressions to be pretty reliable. On average, about 90 percent of students who participate in our Summer Program receive offers to join the firm — and about 90 percent of those receiving offers decide to join us.
